The council-led plans significantly expanded the range of fitness and wellbeing facilities available, creating an exciting new swimming destination for the people of the borough, including a 50m Olympic-size swimming pool.

The revised proposals were drafted to ensure they met community needs for years to come, whilst also enhancing open spaces around the proposed new buildings.

To help meet current demand, and generate capital, the Council’s plans include mixed-tenure housing, with a significant proportion (100 units) utilising the affordable later life living approach.

The Later Living scheme is generating a land value of £15m (red book value is £4m) with the remaining 200 units of BTR generating a value of £8m.
